The government of Lagos State has stated that it will do what it can to ensure that women there have equal opportunities to succeed as men do.
This was reported by Nigerian journalists in an interview with Government Secretary Bimbo Salu-Hundeyin in Lagos.
On Friday night, on the fringes of the Eloy Awards and Conference, she made the pledge.
Salu-Hundeyin claimed that the state government cared about achieving gender parity in its appointments because of the Sanwo-Olu administration.
She claimed that many initiatives, such as training and education, had been taken by the government to amplify women’s voices in the state.
The SSG noted that the resilience and determination she witnessed among Nigerian women during the awards ceremony gave her hope for the country.
“This is fantastic. I think the organizer of the awards deserves an award herself because she is performing well.
By having the SSG here today, the state government has already acknowledged the awards’ recipients’ efforts.
