Kwarare is a community in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, where a joint team of police operatives and vigilante members recently eliminated five bandit leaders who had led their gangs to penetrate the village.
A vigilante leader in Katsina who reported this to HEALTHYSPOT101 said that the confrontation occurred at 2 pm on Saturday between Kwarare and Kadoji village.
Bala Wuta, Tsoho Hassan na Kadoji, Na Sahura, Hussaini Bakuru, and Lawal Baban Sabe Kadoji were named as the five murdered bandit leaders by the same source. He said that these people were in positions of power and were notorious for their involvement in cattle rustling.
He also revealed that two members of the joint task force were injured during the operation: Aminu Surajo, a member of the vigilante group, and Abdullahi Banka, a police officer.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, a spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, verified the report and said more information will be released soon.
