Abia State has been notified by the Ala Imenyi autonomous community of Lomara in the Umunnochi Local Government Area that they have found an object that may be a bomb.
They made the announcement over the weekend during a meeting with Abia State Assemblyman Hon. Mathias Umeh, who represents the Umunnochi constituency.
They claimed that the visit was to brief the state government on the bomb scare through their traditional ruler, HRH, Eze Luke Uchechukwu, and President General, John Ejiofor.
The Ala Imenyi people, who claim their territories have been plagued by violence over the past few years, have thanked Governor Alex Otti’s new government for helping to get the situation under control with his security policies and have urged the continuation of the struggle against bandits.
They hoped that the state government will place additional infrastructure initiatives in their neighborhood.
Umeh responded that he will relay the Ala Imenyi’s concerns to the Abia State Government.
Umeh, who commended Otti for responding to the horrible insecurity scenario that held sway in Umunnochi in the past, informed his people that kidnappings, armed robbery and other sorts of crimes would never be permitted in any section of Umunnochi.
