On Saturday, the alleged killer of a couple was apprehended by troops from the Nigerian Army’s Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Kwi Community, Riyom LGA, Plateau State.
Lt.-Col. Ishaku Takwa, Acting Deputy Dircetor, Army Public Relations of the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army in Rukuba, near Jos, made the announcement at a press conference in Jos.
Takwa reported that the suspect was captured by the army on November 18 in the Tafawa neighborhood of Barkin Ladi.
Recall that on August 14, suspected gunmen killed a freshly married couple, one Rwang Danladi, 37 and his wife, Sandra, 28.
Both were teachers at BECO and died in the shooting rampage that day.
Takwa recalled that in August, “gunmen forced themselves into BECO Comprehensive Secondary School, Kwi,” and killed a married couple working as teachers there.
We started looking into him and ended up nabbing one Lukman Aminu, who was wanted for a long list of crimes.
“He was arrested at Tafawa village in Barkin Ladi and has since confessed to committing the crime.”
In addition, Takwa assured that the remaining gunmen would soon be brought to justice, saying that the military is already on their track.
