It has been revealed by the government of Sierra Leone that “unidentified individuals” attempted to breach into the country’s arsenal.
Minister of Information and Civic Culture Chernor Bah announced this on Sunday in a press statement.
The announcement claimed that the mentioned people had been located and apprehended.
In the early hours of Sunday, November 26th, 2023, unknown individuals attempted to break into the military armory at Wilberforce barracks, prompting the government to issue a nationwide curfew. All of their requests have been denied.
“A statewide curfew is issued with immediate effect across the country to allow the security forces to resume the process of apprehending the suspects. We highly warn individuals to stay indoors,” part of the announcement said.
Keep in mind that some nations in West Africa have seen military coups in recent years.
Mali, Burkina Faso, Gabon, and the Niger Republic have all reportedly experienced coups and are now ruled by a military junta, as reported by DAILY POST.
